Greens and Ham in a Gooey Cheese Sauce

I love to experiment in the kitchen but I also like to cook quickly, so I throw everything together like a whirling dervish! I'm definitely not a tidy cook!

  • Serves 4

Tenderstem® and asparagus spears wrapped in ham and baked in a gooey cheese sauce made with heavy cream

  • Tenderstem® broccoli
  • Asparagus spears
  • Thickly sliced ham
  • Mature cheddar cheese
  • Double cream
  • Black pepper
  1. Lightly grill Tenderstem® and asparagus

  2. Take one piece of Tenderstem® and one asparagus spear, bundle together and wrap in ham. Repeat until you have enough to serve 3 wrapped pieces per person.

  3. Lay in a baking dish

  4. Grate cheese

  5. Place double cream in a small sauce pan, simmer, then add 2/3 of the cheese to create a lazy rich cheese sauce

  6. Pour sauce over the veggie/ham parcels

  7. Top with the final 1/3 of your grated cheese and smother in black pepper

  8. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown

  9. Serve with a crisp salad and crusty buttered bread.
