Tenderstem® au Gratin

A simply baked Tenderstem® broccoli and cheese dish. Steamed Tenderstem® broccolli with a piquant cheese sauce.

  • 1 pack Tenderstem® broccoli
  • 4oz. Mature Chedder Cheese
  • 2 Tbsps Olives (stoned and roughly chopped)
  • Handful Flaked Almonds
  • For the white sauce
  • 1oz Plain Flour
  • 1oz Butter
  • 1 pint Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Grated Nutmeg
  1. Steam the Tenderstem® Broccoli.

  2. Make the sauce by first melting the butter in a saucepan.

  3. When melted add the flour, mixing well.

  4. Add the milk slowly, beating all the time to produce a smooth glossy sauce.

  5. Add the chopped Olives.

  6. Grate the nutmeg into the sauce.

  7. Spoon the sauce over the Tenderstem® broccoli when it's tender.

  8. Grate the Nutmeg over the sauce.

  9. Grate the cheese.

  10. Bake in the oven at moderate heat (180 degree centigrade) for about 15 minutes.
